I put a new server together with CentOS 4. This server is doing a number of functions including ntp, mail, and web server. I had a USB drive plugged in and it was working great. I could access it at /media/usbdisk and I copied lots of data to it. I felt the server was "complete" so I wanted to move it. I shut it down, moved it, etc. Everything is ok, except that I cannot access the usbdisk now. If I plug it into my laptop (FC4) I can access it without any problems. When I plug it into the server I get: Aug 30 15:47:22 porky kernel: ohci_hcd 0000:00:0f.2: wakeup Aug 30 15:47:22 porky kernel: usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using address 3 Aug 30 15:47:22 porky kernel: scsi3 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Aug 30 15:47:22 porky kernel: Vendor: WDC WD16 Model: 00JB-00GVA0 Rev: 0 0 Aug 30 15:47:22 porky kernel: Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Aug 30 15:47:22 porky kernel: SCSI device sdb: 312581808 512-byte hdwr sectors (160042 MB) Aug 30 15:47:22 porky kernel: sdb: assuming drive cache: write through Aug 30 15:47:22 porky kernel: sdb: sdb1 Aug 30 15:47:22 porky kernel: Attached scsi disk sdb at scsi3, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Aug 30 15:47:22 porky kernel: Attached scsi generic sg3 at scsi3, channel 0, id 0, lun 0, type 0 Aug 30 15:47:22 porky scsi.agent[9209]: disk at /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:0f.2/usb1/1-2/1-2:1.0/host3/target3:0:0/3:0:0:0 Aug 30 15:47:23 porky fstab-sync[9282]: added mount point /media/usbdisk for /dev/sdb1 Problem is when I go to /media/usbdisk there's nothing there. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, James

how about mounting the disk? # mount /media/usbdisk> Aug 30 15:47:23 porky fstab-sync[9282]: added mount point /media/usbdisk > for /dev/sdb1 > > Problem is when I go to /media/usbdisk there's nothing there. Anyone > have any suggestions?
