I just read an interesting article caleed "Monitor Linux file system
events with inotify.", see

I notice that /dev/inotify is not present on my CentOS4 system, so the
necessary kernel patches are probably not present.
Does anyone know if there are any plans afoot to provide this
functionality for rhel systems?
