[Asterisk-Users] Any IP phones with pro-audio connections?
Does anybody know of any IP phones (ideally SIP based) that have interfaces to plug into a pro audio system (eg for phone interviews). Something can probably be hacked up with a headset connector or the 1/8" jacks on a 7970 but I'm wondering if there's something better out there. Thanks, Julien

[Asterisk-Users] Any IP phones with pro-audio connections?
I could not find anything so I whipped up something myself using an M-Audio FireWare Box, It gives my 4 distinct analog audio channels as well as two inputs. It also has SPDIF (optical and Coax). I then paired it with the SNOM softphone. I am also able to record to an external DAT or MD, or feed it back in using an other channel and record to any format. I use a Good Quality AKG 414 for my side and the quality is awesome, It comes with its own mixer so I use one of the sends to drve the input of the Snom and then take the return of the snom into a channel. That way I (near side) sounds great and the other side sounds like you would expect. I though about using a hardphone but when ever I hooked it up to an external mixer using a 1/8 inch (Grandstream GX-2000 has a TRS connector for a headset) I would get a nasty buzz, not a ground loop but probably from the power supply. They may have fixed it by now, or you could use a high quality 5VDC external power supply, but that is at your own risk. Good luck, and if you need anymore help fell free to contact me off-list. Snom 200 if you can get ahold of them has standard 1/8 headset jacks you would use the Monitor() app to record. -----Original Message----- From: pdhales@optusnet.com.au [mailto:pdhales@optusnet.com.au] Sent: Saturday, May 20, 2006 5:52 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] Any IP phones with pro-audio connections?
