harry gaillac a ?crit :>Hello, > >What do you think of this project www.openpbx.org ? >Something like ser and openser ! > >Since it is a fork of Asterisk, I can't help to think that "the truly opensource PBX" refers to the fact that Digium has all copyright on Asterisk code, and hence is able to sell commercial licenses. Which would imply that somehow Asterisk is not "truly open source" - which is bullshit. I find it really appalling. Despite this, I hope there will be some interesting developments with the project and that it was not done just "out of spite" towards Digium which gave us a great PBX. Wait and see...
Digium gains from Asterisk so these guys think that having "their own pbx" will earn them the support and benefit that Digium gets from Asterisk.... $0.02 -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of gincantalupo Sent: Thursday, October 06, 2005 7:50 AM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] www.openpbx.org Hi all, why a fork??? It doesn't look like they have any goals yet... Goals: The goal of the project is to produce a free Software PBX that will be highly robust and stable, featureful, and easy to use and deploy. We will build a positive forward-thinking community around OpenPBX.org to support it and carry it forward. The project goverance and roadmap is still developing. It's a bunch of "fluffy" words and then a statement of "we don't have a clue". -Jonathan -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of gincantalupo Sent: Thursday, October 06, 2005 7:50 AM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] www.openpbx.org Hi all, why a fork???
