Using CentOS 7 to attempt recovery of failed disk
...error. You also need bs=4096 so that ONLY the bad sector(s) get zeroed, and not the surrounding ones. If you have, say, bs=1M, then you will get a megabyte of zeros if any block within that megabyte is bad. I'm speaking from recent experience! Strange text on Asterisk console
I've just set up a new box with FC1+updates and the latest Stable Asterisk from CVS. Asterisk is started with the default safe_asterisk script with a console on TTY9. The coloured text on this console is made up of weird characters instead of normal. Please see http://www.softins.co.uk/dsc00018.jpg for an example. If I do "asterisk -rvvvvv" on a normal login, either via the console or an xterm, the text appears correctly. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this and how to fix it? Digium TE410P LED problem
...g to put it in a different machine. As I did so, I happened to notice that one of the wires from the LED was touching the faceplate. Aha! I moved the wire, re-installed the card, and all was fine. If only I'd noticed this on the first card :-( See the following document for photos. http://www.softins.co.uk/TE410P%20LED%20Problem.pdf Perhaps Digium could alert their production company and support personnel to this problem. This is in my source directory... when I do a "grep JERRY *" every file is returned an a line printed even though there is no JERRY on the line. Then if I do a "grep JERRY *.c" just the 4 lines that have JERRY are returned. This is what is prints for "grep JERRY *" src#

I'm amazed if it isn't configurable... I'm using fail2ban 0.8.8 from EPEL. Background asynchronous AGI

No voice in MeetMe for SIP with AGI_BACKGROUND
Hello List, I have seen from the following link that, for SIP channels there is no audio communication possible in MeetMe with AGI_BACKGROUND. http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+cmd+MeetMe Currently we are using asterisk-1.6.2 and the problem still persists. Is there any solution available to overcome this problem? According to our requirement, we have to run an AGI script in MeetMe.

FastAGI Command Execution
I've noticed that with FastAGI (and maybe AGI) that when you sequentially send a sequence of dial commands, if the call is picked up, that after the call ends, the Fast AGI script keeps executing the commands! Is there anyway to stop execution once a call is picked up? I think looking at the result codes after the Dial to determine if the call was picked up or not is not a good idea... if it
