Hi all I have been googling and wiki-ing and have found a number of potential solutions to my questions, but I don't want to have to play about for too long and risk messing up my * box now I've just got it working, if one of you kind folk could offer your 2 penneth, (being a Brit I'll have none of this cents business ;] ). I want to send an SMS message whenever I get a voicemail left on my *@home 0.6 box. I don't have any pstn attached the the box, and I am running FWD, voipuser, and alg as providers for various routes and redundancy. I can find a number of providers for sending SMS via pstn to BT, but nothing to reliably use online SMS services. I saw a few for outbound that were in beta. Basically can anyone recommend an SMS client for internet only usage in the UK. Many thanks Mark
http://www.bayhamsystems.com/ has a app for sending SMS with asterisk. Don't know how their prices stack up for the UK though.
Most US carriers have an email --> SMS gateway that can be used for free. I don't know about UK carriers. That wouldn't need a PSTN connection... -Pete Mark Charlton wrote:> Hi all > > I have been googling and wiki-ing and have found a number of potential > solutions to my questions, but I don't want to have to play about for too > long and risk messing up my * box now I've just got it working, if one of > you kind folk could offer your 2 penneth, (being a Brit I'll have none of > this cents business ;] ). > > I want to send an SMS message whenever I get a voicemail left on my *@home > 0.6 box. Jay, Some Sender-ID issues came up during our beta trials but AFAIK these have all been fixed now in the live version. Also regarding MWI, keep an eye on your email in the next few days...
