These charges are on top of the normal per message fees.
This does NOT affect applications using SMS by E-mail (sending a
mobile phones e-mail address).
I checked with Simplewire.com (US) and Clickatell.com (South Africa).
This policy is dictated by the US mobile providers, and affects all
message terminating on US networks, regardless of origination.

I have been googling and wiki-ing and have found a number of potential
solutions to my questions, but I don't want to have to play about for too
long and risk messing up my * box now I've just got it working, if one of
you kind folk could offer your 2 penneth, (being a Brit I'll have none of
