asterisk users - Mar 2005 - PRI E1 Questions

Hi,
We recently got a PRI installed at one of our local centres however, we appear
to be having interesting issues.

Everything seems to be installed in the correct manner.

asterisk*CLI> pri show span 1
Primary D-channel: 16
Status: Provisioned, Down, Active
Switchtype: EuroISDN
Type: CPE
Window Length: 0/7
Sentrej: 0
SolicitFbit: 0
Retrans: 0
Busy: 0
Overlap Dial: 0
T200 Timer: 1000
T203 Timer: 10000
T305 Timer: 30000
T308 Timer: 4000
T313 Timer: 4000
N200 Counter: 3

However, when we try and make a call:
    -- Executing Dial("SIP/sgupta-901d", "ZAP/1/32953295")
in new stack
Mar 24 11:11:31 NOTICE[987]: app_dial.c:746 dial_exec: Unable to create channel
of type 'ZAP'
  == Everyone is busy/congested at this time

Any ideas?

Uhhh... yeah. What do you think 'Down' means? It means the PRI span is 
not up, which means it cannot be used for calls.

Call your telco, tell them you have your end installed and working and 
that they need to turn the circuit 'up'.
