Hello, On Saturday, Oct 2nd 2004, I did a 45 minute presentation on Asterisk to the Ohio Linuxfest. Roughly 350 people attended, and I think I spoke with nearly all of them at some time during the day. N2Net had an Asterisk PBX running on a Laptop w/ a pair of SNOM 200 Phones setup for people to play with. When all was said and done, nearly 800 incoming/outgoing calls were made through the PBX on that day. We gave away a pair of X100P cards as door prizes and every single last Digium handout that I had with me was gone by 2 PM. The presentation is online at: http://damin.umlcoop.net/linuxfest2004.htm (PowerPoint for Web) or in PDF at: http://damin.umlcoop.net/linuxfest2004.pdf While 45 minutes just barely scratches the surface of Asterisk, people got the point. Presentations like this tend to have a ripple effect and since this was targeted at LUGs you can be sure that this ripple is just starting. I've already received Emails from people that have asked me to give the presentation at other meetings. I could have never done it without the help and support from people in this community. In particular, I want to thank the following: Mark - For writing Asterisk Digium - For providing the handouts Allison - For the awesome intro she recorded (You knocked them out of their chairs!) Jon Todd - For Asterisk in Three Beers Time or less, which I borrowed some content from. #asterisk - For setting me straight And everyone that provided me feedback.
