Handouts / Reports or just simply printing text to PDF?
...ume R won't easily generate nice reports (unless one starts using Sweave and LaTeX) but perhaps somebody here knows a package that can create report like output for special cases? How can I simply plot output into PDF? Perhaps you know a package I should check out? What do you guys do to create handouts (before actually publishing)? Thanks in advance, Ralf

Sweave and abbreviating output from R
Dear List, I'm using Sweave to produce a series of class handouts for a course I am running. The students in previous years have commented about wanting output within the handouts so they can see what to expect the output to look like. So Sweave is a godsend for producing this type of handout - with one exception: Is there a way to suppress some rows of prin...

Installing LaTeX class files not available in Debian packages
I apologize for abusing the list somewhat but there is some connection to R. Several of the example files in the knitr package for R use the tufte-handout class, which, AFAICS, is not available in Ubuntu or Debian packages (please correct me if I am wrong). The source files are available at tufte-latex.googlecode.com (a.k.a. code.google.com/p/tufte-latex) and I presume they should end up in a subdirectory of /usr/local/share/texmf or something like...

Trying to get started with virt-p2v
I need to p2v migrate a Windows server and I am soooo confused! By now, I've done a few virt-v2v migrations, so I get how that works. I attended Richard and Matthew's Red Hat Summit talk about virt-p2v and just now downloaded the handouts. If I understand what's going on, virt-p2v is pretty much the same as virt-v2v, except that the physical system to migrate from needs to boot from a live CD, so that virt-v2v can connect to it. OK, makes sense. How do I get my hands on an ISO of this live CD? Matthew's handout poin...

...;rho" in the regular survival() function? I think that survdiff uses a different version than what you have found. The G-rho family weights are: w_j = [S?(tj)]^? So rather than two parameters on S(t) and (1-S(t)) as in the p,q version, you only have one parameter applied to S(t). Struggling to compute marginal effects !
...and any other R-project person, Can you please help me to figure out the meaning of the following error message in red ? Error in eval(predvars, data, env) : numeric 'envir' arg not of length one I computed ordered logit models using 'polr' in R (I just followed the guidance a handout I found on princeton.edu about logit, probit and multinomial logit models) . The summary results are obtained without any problem. *However*, when I'm using the package 'erer' to compute the marginal effects for the ordered logit models, I'm just getting the error message above. Fleming-Harrington weighted log rank test
Hi all,? The survdiff() from survival package has an argument "rho" that implements Fleming-Harrington weighted long rank test.? But according to several sources including "survminer" package (https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/survminer/vignettes/Specifiying_weights_in_log-rank_comparisons.html), Fleming-Harrington weighted log-rank test should have 2 parameters

Truncated R output in Sweave
Dear Colleagues: In producing a book or a handout I sometimes cut out a large part of the printed output of an R function, substituting ... for that chunk. Deleting non-essential output saves paper. It would be nice to have a capability in Sweave to allow the user to specify a starting and an ending regular expression that would identify cons...

Ohio Linuxfest 2004 Presentation
...he day. N2Net had an Asterisk PBX running on a Laptop w/ a pair of SNOM 200 Phones setup for people to play with. When all was said and done, nearly 800 incoming/outgoing calls were made through the PBX on that day. We gave away a pair of X100P cards as door prizes and every single last Digium handout that I had with me was gone by 2 PM. The presentation is online at: http://damin.umlcoop.net/linuxfest2004.htm (PowerPoint for Web) or in PDF at: http://damin.umlcoop.net/linuxfest2004.pdf While 45 minutes just barely scratches the surface of Asterisk, people got the point. [ANNOUNCE] libguestfs webinar TOMORROW (Friday)
...a Webex conference. It's possible, albeit difficult, to get Webex working on Linux. You will need the Java plugin for your browser, and there are some other tips on my blog: https://rwmj.wordpress.com/2011/11/17/libguestfs-web-seminar-this-friday/ The Webex conference link, an accompanying handout, and other details will be posted to the above URL ^^ shortly before the session starts. Don't worry if you can't make it or can't get Webex to work, as it will all be recorded and placed online in an open format as soon as we can afterwards. This seminar is sponsored by Red Hat. Ric...
