mysterious rippled sound with IAX
...ld sound like a ghost story but...
I have prepared an Asterisk 1.4.26.2 PBX on a Debian Lenny, the same I
always prepare, same hw, same sw. I connected it to 2 iax phones using a
hub: it works!
I take everything it to our customer place, same PBX, same phones, same
hub, same cables: the audio is rippled!
Changing phones, cables and hub gives the same result.
It does not happen with SIP phones but unfortunately I cannot use SIP
protocol. :(
Tried with a trixbox 2.6.2.2 (Asterisk 1.4.22) on a normal laptop and it
works.
It's like there something in our customer environment which is ruining...

Milliwatt Analyzer available
...nalysis for a fixed frequency
and tells the amplitude.
The frequency is not limited to 1000 Hz, but can be passed
as argument. The periode duration must be a mulitple of 0.5 ms,
thus the valid frequences are: 2000 Hz, 1000 Hz, 666.666666667 Hz,
500 Hz, ...
Furthermore the application computes the ripple on that tone.
In order to detect audiogaps and short noise on the line, one can
define a treshold and a timeslice duration (typically 1s to 0.1s), and
the application will compute the ripple for each timeslice and count the
timeslices with a ripple greater than the given treshold.
Thus the applic...

winbind/idmap/AD problem?

I'm seeing a lot of this in log.winbindd-idmap

Now I don't know if this is related, but if I wbinfo -n wsd\\rippls I
get a long SID number, if I do wbinfo -s [same SID number] I get wsd

different SID from before!
I'm trying very hard this summer to make this work so I can retire our

PWGL in wine, problems
Hello,
I'm new on this list. First of all, thank you to all the developers of this
great project!
At the moment there is only an application that keeps me on both macos and
windows, its name is PWGL a free environment for computer assisted
composition in openGL. (http://www2.siba.fi/PWGL/)
I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 and wine 0.9.59.
I have to say that I also installed vcrun2005 and

You might want to point out to oracle that Samba 4.0 is now EOL, also
the ripple goes the other way, from Samba down to distros. I also don't
think that 4.0 will ever get this patch.

[cfe-dev] Fwd: Raising CMake minimum version to 3.4.3
...We plan to port CMake to OpenVMS, but that has been trickier than you'd think (others have tried, I haven't found anybody who has done it). Looks like I'll want to visit the cmake-developers list to as we get farther along.
The "lets update every year just because" does have ripple effects for us non-traditional platforms.

RecordNotFound bubbling thru to cucumber
Hello,
I have a controller action that raises a RecordNotFound exception if
you''re not allowed to see something. In my global application
controller (application.rb), I catch these and render the 404
template. But when I run cucumber (using webrat), it''s getting the
full stacktrace (the step blows up). Any ideas why? I have
consider_all_requests_local turned off in my test.rb.

[LLVMdev] Q about instruction pattern matching
...Could something like the Uses and Defs constraints apply to whole
register classes as well? For instance, I assume the register
allocated is going to guarantee that EAX:EDX is not allocated around
an x86 integer division, and that the inputs end up in the right
registers. If those constraints "ripple up" through the function,
couldn't that be augmented to solve this problem as well so that
arithmetic would automatically select the data registers?
Thanks,

write only permissions
...butes/Read permissions.
Needless to say this doesn't seem to work! The student account (in the
right group) is not allowed to drop a file into that folder. If I add
g:wsd\\whs\ Student:rwx then the student can do anything sucessfully,
with -wx nothing?!!
Can anyone help?
Many thanks,

[LLVMdev] Q about instruction pattern matching
...'t believe so. It's simply a list of physical registers AFAIK.

Protecting EAX:EDX is relatively straight forward, it's having the
inputs end up in the right registers that's tricky....

How to remove ability to delete files
Hi, this is kind of a strange situation. I have a share that I want to
work like a drop box. I want users to be able to create new files and
read existing files, but not be able to delete them (except for the
owner of the dropbox). Does anyone know how to do this?
I've tried every combination I could think of write list, read only,
force group, and sticky bits on the directory itself.

migrating from freebsd to linux - wbinfo mismatch
We're beginning a migration from FreeBSD w/ Samba Version 3.0.28a to
Gentoo Linux w/ Samba Version 3.0.33. Both the BSD system and the Linux
system are joined to the domain, using the same krb5.conf file and
nearly identical global sections of the smb.conf file.
What I've found is the UID and GID are not aligned with each other. For
example:

Server hangs on CentOS 5.5
Hi --
I'm running a server which is usually stable, but every
once in a while it hangs. The server is used as a file
store using NFS and to run VMware machines.
I don't see anything in /var/log/messages or elsewhere
to indicate any problem or offer any clue why the system
was hung.
Any suggestions where I might look for a clue?

[LLVMdev] Redefining function
...ted, the
Pure interpreter just jits the new function, changes the global variable
accordingly, and frees the old code.
Compared to Duncan's suggestion, this has the advantage that you only
have to recompile the function which was changed. AFAICT, if you use
replaceAllUsesWith, then the changes ripple through so that you might
end up re-jiting most of your program.

Bug#703586: Xen fails to boot Linux dom0 under UEFI
...tructure to get xen.efi, vmlinuz, an initrd and a xen.cfg on to the ESP partition and letting the efibootmgr know about it.
I already have a oneliner to do this manually, but it isn?t that hard to automate, unless that tiny bit of infrastructure regarding the kernel bits and efi boot is creating a ripple touching many other packages, or if there are rules I am not aware of that make this really hard to make conform to those rules.

While 45 minutes just barely scratches the surface of Asterisk, people
got the point. Presentations like this tend to have a ripple effect and
since this was targeted at LUGs you can be sure that this ripple is
just starting. I've already received Emails from people that have asked me
to give the presentation at other meetings.
I could have never done it without the help and support from people in
