Well, my concern is about the impedances. Suppose I would like to use in a building on the floor 25 where is my office and my server is in the floor 6 where is the Systems department.> Date: Mon, 27 Sep 2004 13:36:42 -0400 > From: "Steve Totaro" <asterisk@totarotechnologies.com> > Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] FXO question > To: "Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion" > <asterisk-users@lists.digium.com> > Message-ID: <001201c4a4b8$8e15fd40$6bbffea9@totarotechnologies.com> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" > > I do not really think there is any set limit. I do not really think there is any set limit. Not like data cable anyways. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Angel Diaz" <adiaz@sinergis.com> To: <asterisk-users@lists.digium.com> Sent: Monday, September 27, 2004 10:51 AM Subject: [Asterisk-Users] FXO question> Hi all: > Does somebody know how many meters of cable is supported between > Asterisk Digium-FXO cards and the analog telephone ? > Thanks, > Angel > > > _______________________________________________ > Asterisk-Users mailing list > Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users > To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users >
It should be at least 1000 meters. It they put out the standard 48V guard voltage, and ring with the full 96V voltage, it might get up to 5000 meters or more, like a regular phone line. Most of the 'standard' phone systems will support upwards of 800-1000 ft. (250-300 meters) and you can add long line adapters (just an additional p/s of the proper voltage) to the line to extend it. I haven't messed with the TDM cards to know any exact figures on them. Jason Kawakami www.optellabs.com
