I've come across an odd dialing problem with my * setup. After * has been running for a while, if I try to dial out on any of my zap channels, (both are X100P cards) it picks up the line but never sends the DTMF. Has anyone heard of or seen this problem before? Right now I'm looking at 19 hours of uptime on * itself. If I restart it, everything works fine for a little while, then the pickup-no-dial problem shows up again. I've verified this is what is happening by placing a simple phone on the line with each of the cards and listening in on the call progress. I can hear the "click" of the X100P opening the line, but it never sends the DTMF. -- Seth "a whisper in time" Mattinen sethm@rollernet.us
I had a simular problem. It may not be dialing because it detects another phone has picked up the line and the voltage has dropped. I tried the same test. It turns out it WAS dialing but my txgain was at 15! and the DTMF was gettin distorted set your txgain=0 and your rxgain=0> I've come across an odd dialing problem with my * setup. I get dialtone and can then dial the number again, but* isn't doing the dialing for me, as it was for hte past couple days. Haven't taken any time to try to find out why, but I can confirm it is happening to me.

I'm still playing with it, but not quite sure exactly what the problem is. -- Seth "a whisper in time" Mattinen sethm@rollernet.us
I may have found a solution to my zap dialing problem: disabling the MMX option in the zaptel drivers. After disabling MMX and recompiling (I had dome some recompiles earlier to adjust tone length and such, with the problem still appearing), it's been over 36 hours since the last no-dial symptoms were seen. -- Seth "et lux in tenebris lucet" Mattinen sethm@rollernet.us
