I can't seem to make the "Hold" button function on the GS BudgeTone-100. I'm trying a procedure like this: 1) On a call 2) Press "Hold" button 3) Hang up phone What I expect is for the call to go on hold until I pick up the receiver again. (Like my SPA-2000's, except it's a flash, but I can hang up the phone and the call waits there for me to pick it up again.) Instead, the phone just hangs up on the call. Here's my sip config for the phone: [201] type=friend username=201 secret=voip0 host=dynamic context=from-sip dtmfmode=rfc2833 reinvite=no canreinvite=no disallow=all allow=ulaw allow=alaw Can anyone shed some light on the subject? -- Seth "veritas vos liberabit" Mattinen sethm@rollernet.us

I agree it differs from everyone else's implementation of hold but that's the way it is (nothing to do with your configuration). Try sending an email to support@grandstream.com to see if you can make them see the error of their ways :-)

I learned this the hard way by disconnecting a few calls (our Cisco handsets and our last phone system allowed you to hang up the phone). If you just press the hold button and sit the receiver down next to the phone, the call is placed on hold. To resume the call, press the hold button again. Very annoying functionality I'll agree. I'd much rather the ability to hang up the phone, and what would be even nicer would be a hold reminder tone after x seconds. -Shaun
check the ver of the flash on your phone for firmware you might need to update.

When you pick up the receiver, just press the hold button again to resume your call. I too found out the hard way. HTH, Ryan Thrash

There doesn't seem to be any official source for the latest firmware that I could tell, however. -- Seth "ninja monkey" Mattinen sethm@rollernet.us
Here is a message I sent to support@grandstream.com I have looked everywhere and cannot find any info on how to over come this. If anyone can help, I would love to hear from you.. -------------------- Hi Support, I have looked all over but cannot find any wiki or other info on this issue, Please help. I have sold a system to a Client using your handsets, I am very happy so far apart from.. When TRANSFERING a call to another extension, if you enter an invalid extension, (I.e. Hit TRANSFER, then dial erroneous number.. SEND, Congestion tone, Hang-up, go off-hook.. Try different solutions to try to get call back.... But no.) you loose control of the CALL. The Call sits on MusicOnHold, while still attached to your phone, and there is no way to RECOVER the call.. This is something you NEVER want to do to a customer.. So I am very reluctant to sell the system while this bug exists. I am running three week old phones of the production line from my understanding.. --- MAC Address: ? 00.0B.82.01.31.B3 Product Model: ? BT100 Software Version: ?
