I know RTP can be set between SIP end points or H323 end points. SIP end
point to H323 end point, I am not sure. Anyone who did this ...?
Besides, terminating g/w would only open up for my servers IP, for security
reasons, so even if technically possible, it may be out of the question.
This colo deal seems good, 59 bucks per month, bustable up to 100 meg and 20
Gig monthly bandwidth. They say it's tier 1, I do not know about that.
Currently I have this network operational, from a SHDSl (SBC) from home and
latency to my end point g/w is in 300 ms range. With the colo it is 100ms
faster. BTW: with this delay I have excellent quality. Thing is moment I
clog-up bandwidth quality goes down drastically.
Anyone in SFO needs colo, can check this out
http://www.coloserv.com/pricing.html .

I think I have seen it mentioned that the rtp stream can be redirected
between endpoints and the control data would be the only part you would
need to hold on to at your colo facility as it is changing between SIP
and H323. If so, your bandwidth is only for the IVR portion, and not
much for the actual call.
Just a thought, but maybe you should check out some other colo options.
There are many colo facilities that will let you do bandwidth capping
and no per month limits.
Our current deal with Inflow is 1.5meg cap no limits. This was a special
negotiation, their normal is 1 meg average with 5 meg burstable or 2 meg
average and 10 meg burstable. So if your traffic was mostly during
business hours in a few timezones, you could keep your average low
enough to stay under your averages.
