bandwith issues, ISP hosting services, etc
I am looking into supporting around 20 SIP clients (ATAs, IP softphones, etc) distributed in around 10 different end points (in South America). For the most part they all have narrow band connections 64kpbs, 128 at most and I?d like to use g729 all around (don?t have too many alternatives)
To start with, I will have one * with no gateway to the PSTN and eventually a few * boxes with termination

how to explore contents of R data file from command line?
Dear all,
I have a directory with my research project, containing files
.RData
and
inflow.RData
I am just curious, is there any way to explore contents of inflow.RData from
command line without affecting .RData and without copying inflow.RData to
another location?
I can see names and character attributes (of something in the file) in a 3rd
party raw file viewer.

Fax->Email for Hosted PBX
I'm proposing to install an Asterisk PBX at a collocation facility for a
remote customer. Each of the customer locations will have an SPA-3000
with the FXO port connecting a POTS circuit and the FXS port connecting
a fax machine or red phone.
In addition to voice traffic, the customer has a high volume of incoming
and outgoing faxes.
Would it be possible, using g711 between the SPA-3000

[LLVMdev] clang -integrated-as compiles all of FreeBSD
hi!
To continue the inflow of good news this week, let me announce that
clang -integrated-as (ie. ELF part of MC) compiles all of FreeBSD!
This includes things like booting kernel, gnu libstdc++, clang/LLVM
itself and many other components that make up FreeBSD operating system.
I personally consider this a milestone where -integrated-as should
become the default for ELF/{x86_64,i386}.

HTB burstable for 2 interface , how ?
Dear folks,
Here goes my bandwidth manager:
INTERNET
|
|eth0 202.14.41.1
BW.Manager
| |
| +----eth1----192.168.1.0/24
|
+------eth2----192.168.2.0/24
Total incoming bandwidth to eth0 is 1024kbps
should be shared to eth1 and eth2, which mean each get 512Kbps and
burstable to 1024Kbps if other host is idle.
My question is how do i apply HTB to these situation ?
As far as i know eth1 and eth2

How to bind RTP when IP alias are configured
Hi Folks,
I have a situation where my Colo insists on a particular IP setup for my *
server box. They allocate two blocks of IPs to my colo server. One set as my
own (ex 20.20.20.20.4/30 - 4 ips) and the other as a transit lan (es
10.10.10.0/29). These are all public IP addresses and there is no NAT
involved in.
So essentially I have to set-up IP aliases in my Linux box as follows;

Performance Issues Degradation After 6 Calls
I am using Asterisk and A2billing Calling Card Platform and after the 6th
call the quality starts to degrade. The way it set up is the user calls into
the system then dial out so I have 12 channels being used up but 6 active
calls. Here are my specs Asterisk SVN-branch-1.4-r79142 on a i686 running
Linux Fedora 6, Pentium 4 Hyper-Threading, 64 bit, 1GB of RAM, 80 GB Sata
Drive, bandwidth 4 Mbps

some questions on dovecot or rather a mail system setup
Hi folks.
Perhaps you find some time to look into this,... if you think I should
better direct this do some dovecot mailing list,.. just tell :)
I'm trying to plan my mail system and would have some questions.
The overall idea is about the following:
- There is a (internet) server, which is the MTA (which will be postfix)
and imap and/or pop3 server (which shall be, guess, dovecot!).

MFC requests for 6.3
I would like to request that some useful work on networking be MFCed from
-CURRENT to -STABLE in time for the release of FreeBSD 6.3. In particular,
I'd like to see some of the Netgraph nodes which are new or which have seen
extensive development brought in -- ng_nat and ng_car in particular. Bringing
in the latest version of ng_nat would allow more flexible in-kernel NAT,
while ng_car (which

Limiting bandwidth usage - where to begin
Hi,
I am very new in this list..
I want each of my internet users to be limited in
his/her usage of bandwidth. The limitation will be
done in my squid (linux) box, as they all have to be
authenticated by squid before going to the internet
jungle..
Then anybody here could tell me where to begin to do
such thing ?
Any idea/solution would be very appreciated
TIA

RC1 problem? (Conversation over two IAX2 streams = nasty, gappy audio)
I've been having 'gappy' audio problems with nufone for about a week now but I
think I've nailed it down.
Setup:
office* - iax2 - colo* - iax2 - nufone
office* and colo* are identical physical hardware (Xeon 2.8, dual ethernet,
solely used for Asterisk) -- they are joined together through their second
ethernet ports over a dedicated 2meg SDSL link. One hop between office* and

ADSL channel boding or Load balancing
Hi There,
We currently using iproute2 for load balancing. However we need more
upload speed as we load balance over 3 dsl lines.
I''ve been looking for a way to combine the upload speed to more
faster. Found a site called www.upstreaminter.net where these guys
bond the adsl channels to improve uploads, Since downloading is
problem as its need to know the ip address of the downloader they

Dear R-users,
I'd like to plot a three-dimensional surface and at the meantime I'm using
an array. I would like to have the values of my first matrix in the heights
of the plot and the colors of the single facet taking into account the
second matrix.
I hope that the next code will help all of you to understand better my
issue,
Thanks in advance, Giancarlo

X330 Keyboard/box dies on install 4.0, not on 3.4
I've got a handful of IBM X330's at my colo and another couple at the
office for testing purposes. Currently, they're running CentOS 3.4 and
are very happy doing so. The 3.4 install was perfectly seamless.
When I tried to upgrade one of my test machines to 4.0, the keyboard
died once I got into the install every single time once I boot to
anaconda from the CD. It dies as soon as

Alternative to cPanel
Hello all,
I'm looking to setup a new CentOS box for a buddy of mine who
wants to do hosting on a server via CoLo, Years ago I whipped up a CP of my
own on a Debian box he colo'd running a basterdized qmail/tinydns and custom
built httpd/mysql/etc (I was young). It worked ok but time to move on and I
don't have time to maintain all those packages. I also don't have

burst according to time limit??? (plz dont blame me for previous html,Outlook)
I was wondering if there is a queue with which I could have a
regular rate limit at some kbits (say 256kbits) for my ethernet stations,
but allow burstable sessions
with a multiple limit (512 kbits) for a specific time (say 3 minutes).
Of course, this is the same with having bursts of some Megabit buckets
(measuring bits and not time), but for such big bursts i think it isn''t
what i
