No need.  The "beauty" of the RJ stanadard is that smaller connectors
fit
into larger jacks, so the RJ-11 connectors will plug in just fine.

standard rj-11 jacks should plug in to the same pins into a rj-45 socket,
so first test your phones plain vanilla before making new cords, in all 
probability they should work

now getting an rj-45 jack into an rj-11 socket is a different story ;)

I'm no phone guy but I've been having quite a bit of fun messing with 
Asterisk. I just unwrapped my new Wildcard TDM400P (TDM40B) which is the new 
4 port FXS PCI card. It has 4 RJ45 connectors and I'd like to hookup 4 
regular phones which are RJ11. If I crip RJ45 connectors to the phone cords 
do I simple use the center two pins (pins 4 and 5)?

Yes, or just plug in RJ11's.  Somehow the idea of putting RJ45's seems
(in
retrospect) not as good as it seemed at the time :)

RJ11 plugs will fit in an RJ45 socket as is - just try it (pair 1 is the 
same in both since it is in the center).

I always just do universal wiring - use RJ45 socket, phone on pair1 (blue), 
network on pair 2,3 (orange, green)

Then you can either plug in a network rj45 jack, or a phone rj11 and both 
work in the same jack. (This will shock and amaze your friends, and they'll 
think you are some kind of technogod.)

Yes you would use pins 4 and 5 of the RJ45 jack which are the two 
center pins.

Another option is to plug the RJ11 plug into the RJ45 jack.  The middle 
two pins of the RJ11 (pins 3 & 4) and the middle two pins of the RJ45 
(pins 4 & 5) line up.

FYI

Having phone and network on the same jack is definitely handy, but
isn't part of the Cat 5/5e standard.
