Upgrade 4 to 8 Analog Lines Question
Hello
I have an office with a T1 that provides 4 (out of 8) analog PSTN
lines thru an adtran board. I want to add 4 more analog lines.
Currently I have a Digium TDM40B. I'm wondering what the best
upgrade path is, where I define 'best' as the solution that
is most likely to work without problems (like interupt conflicts)
and work with my current echo tuning .
I see my purchase options as follows:
1) TDM40B - use with the current TDM40B
2) Sangoma Re...

[Fwd: TDM40B - "Unable to play dialtone on channel X" ?]
Hi everyone,
Sorry for forwarding and top-posting this email again but its as if my
TDM40b has keeled over yesterday. After a few hours last night and
swapping the card to another asterisk server (with exactly the same
result) I needed to have the FXS ports working ASAP this morning so I
have repaced the functionality of the TDM40b with some Grandstream
handytones which I already ha...

Wildcard TDM400P (TDM40B) connectors
Hi,
I'm no phone guy but I've been having quite a bit of fun messing with
Asterisk. I just unwrapped my new Wildcard TDM400P (TDM40B) which is the new
4 port FXS PCI card. It has 4 RJ45 connectors and I'd like to hookup 4
regular phones which are RJ11. If I crip RJ45 connectors to the phone cords
do I simple use the center two pins (pins 4 and 5)?
Thanks,

TDM40B and weird analog problem
OK, I have a Asterisk @ Home 1.0.7 server with two Digium TDM400 cards, one 4
port FXO and one 4 port FXS. When I plug an analog cordless phone into the
TDM40B card and setup a ZAP extension, the phone rings in and you can answer
just fine. The weird part is when you try to get dialtone from the cordless
handset it rings all of the other extensions... One other thing to mention is
that the cordless phone is a part of a ring group that rings 4 total e...

Asterisk Maintenance
I went on a service call yesterday to find an asterisk system with a
T100P card on a Qwest PRI and a TDM40B card connected to fax machines.
The TDM40B LEDs were not lit, and the system did not respond to keyboard
input. However, calls were being processed for the PRI and 7960 phones.
I replaced the TDM40B card with a new one, and the system now seems to
be ok. But I'm wondering, why would the L...

Sending ANI to TDM40B FXS?
We are using TDM40B's to connect some devices to Asterisk which depend
on caller information arriving as ANI, rather than as Caller ID. I am
unsure if the TDM40B supports this in the first place, and if so, I am
unsure how to configure it so. I've searched the wiki but couldn't find
anything. Can someone p...

TDM40B Heating ?
Hi.
I was testing my brand new TDM40B
and noticed that when the kernel module
is loaded (so the card is powered on),
the chip onto the ringer module (the one
below the S/N label) is pretty hot
(I can't touch it for more than 2 seconds).
Is that normal ?
Or too much hot could be dangerous ?

I have 2 xp100's and one TDM400P.
I've plugged a phone into the tdm40b, and when i take it off hook sometimes
i get a dialtone, other times i get the message
"Power alarm of module2, resetting" spit out to the console from the wcfxs
driver
does anyone know what this could be? I've tried two different phones, with
the same result on both.

Configuring TDM40B and X100P
Hi,
I get the following message when I try to run Asterisk. This happened after I
changed some of the configuration files: extensions.conf, zaptel.conf and
zapata.conf. I have both TDM40B and X100P cards and am trying to use them
together. Please let me know if there is something else I should do.
Thnx, Gladys

* fax reliability between ISDN PRI and FXS ports
Hi,
I am building for a customer an * solution that will use 2 Digium cards.
1 x TE110P (T1 ISDN PRI)
1 x TDM40B (4 analog ports, 2 for faxes, 2 for extensions)
The system will be connected to the PSTN through the T1 ISDN PRI interface.
All customer extensions will be SIP phones except 2 fax machines that will
use the analog FXS ports on the TDM40B card.
I have been investigating on this list and found t...

TDM40B Problems
I have just a second case where after * had been up for a few weeks working
perfectly, it suddenly stopped talking to all the extensions. The I4L was
still working perfectly though...
I tried to stop asterisk, rmmod the modules, and insmod, and re-start
asterisk but it did this:
Using /lib/modules/2.4.21-pre5/misc/zaptel.o
Using /lib/modules/2.4.21-pre5/misc/wcfxo.o

VoiceTronix V4PCI and Digium TDM40B together
I am really struggling getting Asterisk up and running utilizing these two
cards. Has anyone had success with this combination? If so, would you be
ever so kind to submit sample vpb.conf,zaptel.conf,zapata.conf and
extension.conf files???

Question - TDM40B - Hunt Group Possibility??
I was wondering if this is possible. I have a situation where I am
connecting to a third party voicemail system from asterisk. I know this
does not make since to everyone, but it has to be this way. Basically -
I have an application that runs on the Asterisk system and when an
employee calls into this system, they have an option to check there
voicemail. This is where it needs to go over to

Zaptel.conf and multiple T1 woes
...e been mis-configured.
I'll preface this by saying that I have looked in the wiki, read through
the samples, and attempted to call Digium (they're closed.) So I'm
praying that someone on the list can help me out!
I have two Digium cards. One is a TE405P quad T1 card. The other is a
TDM40B (I believe) quad analog POTS card.
Some background:
We have two T1's. Both of them are split in half (half voice, half data.
- Don't ask me, that's how I inherited them.) Voice traffic flows on the
back 12 channels of the T's.
Our provider has been telling us that they are only...

s extension don't work on TDM40B
Hi all,
i have read in the * whitepaper the following:
"s: The "start" extension. A call which does not have digits associated with
it (for
example, a loopstart analog line) begins at the "s" extension."
I think this means the s extension will be execute when the phone is picked
up.
But when i pick up the phone the s extension will be never executed.
