Hi, I have to run the repeat loop more than 50 times continuously. But it runs only 20 to 30 times only. After that the memory problem is coming. My dataset has 6321kb only. Then how to solve this problem. Meenakshi -- View this message in context: http://n4.nabble.com/Memory-Problem-tp1459740p1468737.html Sent from the R help mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
PLEASE do read the posting guide http://www.R-project.org/posting-guide.html and provide commented, minimal, self-contained, reproducible code. How about providing information on your operating system and version of R. Also provide a list of all the objects in your workspace and the size of them. You may be making copies or storing results in a list. This information would be helpful to understand where your problem is. Also provide the output of gc() so that we can see how memory is being used. To get helpful suggestions, you have to provide useful information. Saying you have memory problems is not sufficient. What exactly is your definition of "macro"? What to you want to do? What is the problem that you are trying to solve? Why to you think macros will help? Typically R does not have macros; I assume that idea is a holdover from SAS. >>> jim holtman <jholtman at gmail.com> 08/02/2010 14:09:52 >>> >Typically R does not have macros;I know exactly why Jim Holtman said that; R doesn't have a separate 'macro' construct with separate 'macro variables'. But it is perhaps a bit misleading to say that R doesn't have macros without saying a bit more about what it _does_ have. Most of R _is_ a collection of R 'macros' and writing R functions or text files full of R commands - for batch or interactive use - is a common part of day-to-day R use; so much so, perhaps, that noone would bother giving R programs and functions a separate label like 'macro'. So while you won't have an excel or SAS 'macro' you most certainly _do_ have at least equivalent capabilities.
