R help - Oct 2007 - Greek in vector

Hello,
I understand how to use substitute() to integrate Greek characters into plot
labels, but I haven't been successful getting Greek to appear in the vector
entries passed to legend() labels.  Any hints?

How about your telling us what you tried that failed (see the footer).

For example, I don't know if you want Greek letters or mathematical 
symbols (not the same thing as different fonts are used and some have 
different glyphs for e.g. Upsilon).
