R help - Jan 2007 - Canging the type of point points sizein plots..

I want to plot variation of more than one variable in
single plot with different point types and points
sizes . Can someone help me to do that,

points(x1, y1, pch = 1, cex = 1, col = 1)
points(x2, y2, pch = 2, cex = 2, col = 2)
points(x3, y3, pch = 3, cex = 3, col = 3)
