B <- matrix(rnorm(100*100), 100, 100); B <- B + t(B)
sum(diag(A %*% B))
sum(A * B)
system.time(for(i in 1:10000) out <- sum(diag(A %*% B)))
system.time(for(i in 1:10000) out <- sum(A * B))
