Hi
you need expand.grid():
aa <- c(1,2)> bb <- c(3,4)
> cc <- c(5,6)
> expand.grid(aa,bb,cc)
Var1 Var2 Var3
1 1 3 5
2 2 3 5
3 1 4 5
4 2 4 5
5 1 3 6
6 2 3 6
7 1 4 6
8 2 4 6
#define a toy function (here just a max() but you can make
# this function anything you like:> f <- function(x){max(x[1] , x[2] ,x[3])}
#then just apply() the toy function f():
> apply(expand.grid(aa,bb,cc),1,f)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
5 5 5 5 6 6 6 6
