Does any one knows how to include greek letters in plot labels and plot
titles ?

Yes, several people do know. See ?plotmath.

See ?plotmath and the demo in the base package

demo(plotmath)

(or demo(graphics) in some older versions)

A small example:

plot(pnorm(seq(-3,3,.1)), xlab="x",
            ylab=expression(Phi),
            main=expression(Phi==f(x)))
