Hello Everyone, Just a note to inquire about the status of the "official" RWin release. I downloaded the binaries from CRAN using the link provided by Guido Masarotto <http://sirio.stat.unipd.it/RWin> soon after they appeared on CRAN. However, following R help, it seems that there are some problems with that compilation, particularly related to GRID and Lattice. Sure enough, I tried and R crashed. Now, I also know that Prof. Ripley made binaries available that appear to work just fine <http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/RWin/>. Of course, in the post, Prof. Ripley also referred to the "Official Release", that which would later be posted on CRAN, as it turns out, somewhat broken. Is there any reason that I should not simply download the working binaries. Are there differences (other than the fact that it works with GRID and lattice) in the "official" release on CRAN and Prof. Ripley's distribution? Not being in a hurry, should I wait to download a fixed R distro from CRAN? Thanks in advance, Brett Magill -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
