Sorry my question was *not* about getting the html help pages on *my* computer with R installed but to indicate to (distant) colleagues (and anyone interested) a *web* online help describing the richness of R with all the contributed packages and not only the base package. Also something that is not the 850 pages of Reference Index. Does that exist? ------- Voici le message r?achemin? ------- Exp?diteur: "Charles Raux" <Charles.Raux at let.ish-lyon.cnrs.fr> Organisation: LET Destinataire: r-help at stat.math.ethz.ch Date d''envoi: Fri, 19 Jan 2001 14:43:06 +0100 Objet: [R] Web On line help and manual I am searching an online manual describing the functions and packages of R, to indicate the url to colleagues who might be interested in R, instead of crawling through the "Package sources" page. I have found deep down the FAQ the address {HYPERLINK "http://stat.ethz.ch/R/manual/"}http://stat.ethz.ch/R/manual/ but there is only the base package. Is there anything else I missed? Wouldn''t it be an idea to have such an extensive online manual? You mean the same as <CRAN>/src/contrib/PACKAGES.html e.g. http://stat.ethz.ch/CRAN/src/contrib/PACKAGES.html ? I think this must be what Charles is looking for. I think what Charles is looking for is the file R_HOME/doc/html/function.html which is built under Windows with the function link.html.help (i.e. a list of all functions on a single page, not packages). Charles, if that would be so useful, why don''t you build it and put it on the Web? R is a volunteer project after all.
