The performance is ok, I am using it with 8 x 1 TB seagates and it has been working with monitoring, 3dmd and all but if I was going to do it again I had choosen a adaptec or lsi controller so I could run the OS from the drives on the controller. -- Rasmus Fauske EasyISP.no -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I used the newest driver from 3ware/AMCC with 2008.11 and 2009.05. -- Kjetil T. Homme Redpill Linpro AS - Changing the game
I use the Beta 9.5.3 ISO Opensolaris package with OSOL DEV131 build - I had the 3ware support team help me. It works like a charm on my 9650se-24m8 with 20 drives On Feb 1, 2010, at 3:02 AM, Kjetil Torgrim Homme wrote:> Tiernan O''Toole <lsmartman at gmail.com> writes: > >> looking at the 3ware 9650 SE raid controller for a new build... anyone >> have any luck with this card? their site says they support >> OpenSolaris... anyone used one? > > didn''t work too well for me. it''s fast and nice for a couple of days, > then the driver gets slower and slower, and eventually it gets stuck and > all I/O freezes. preventive reboots were needed. Thanks for the feedback lads... dont really need the boot drives to be on the array... was going to use the onboard controller for that... got an adaptec card already, so might look at those again... --Tiernan On 01/02/2010 15:59, TheJay wrote:> I use the Beta 9.5.3 ISO Opensolaris package with OSOL DEV131 build - I had the 3ware support team help me. Hi, It''s a few day now that I try to use a 9650SE 3ware controller to work on opensolaris and I found the following problem : the tw driver seems work, I can see my controller whith the tw_cli of 3ware. I can see that 2 drives are created with the controller, but when I try to use "pfexec format", it doesn''t detect the drive. I use : SunOS nas-ceat 5.11 snv_131 i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris with the latest version of the driver of the 3ware support. Someone can help me to solve my problem ? Thanks in advance, Alex -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
