Hi everybody, I use virt-manager and it has always worked fine. Now, I don''t know why, when I try to open the virt-manager I just get this message: [root@gpfs-ds1 /]# virt-manager Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virt-manager.py", line 59, in ? import gtk File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/gtk-2.0/gtk/__init__.py", line 76, in ? _init() File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/gtk-2.0/gtk/__init__.py", line 64, in _init _gtk.init_check() RuntimeError: could not open display Is there anybody who knows what I must have done wrong? > RuntimeError: could not open displayWhat happens if you run xclock? Same error? Maybe you need to use sux - to get X working under root? Just guessing here... I get the same error: [root@gpfs-ds1 /]# xclock Error: Can''t open display: Actually it opens a window that should configure a display, I guess, but when I close it, that''s it. What is sux? (Sorry for my ignorance) Kindest regards, paola 2009/4/17 Vladimir Konrad <v.konrad@lse.ac.uk>> > RuntimeError: could not open display > > What happens if you run xclock? The sux is simmilar to su but it transfers the X settings so one can run X programs as root...
