And are this list not for xen? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Yes, but this list is for users of the Xen Open Source, not the product of Citrix XenServer... Take a look at this page, maybe will answer your doubts: http://www.citrix.com/English/ps2/products/feature.asp?contentID=1686939 Regards, Thiago 2009/4/18 mattias <mj@mjw.se>> And are this list not for xen? > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users >_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
There is a legitimate question for this forum, though. In terms of raw performance for para-virtualized 64 Bit Linux guest, which product has the upper hand, XenServer or the Xen Hypervisor provided by Suse Novell 11, which is 3.3. I am doubting which way to go. I don''t care about management features if my guests get better performance for network and disk access. My guess is : - performance will be somewhat similar - new features (like stubdom) will be available in the opensource version first before they appear on XenServer. Personally I like the opensource version because it integrates with the distro that I''m familiar with, so it will be like "some application or package to install" instead of "some new operating system to learn". So i can install on a 32 bit yes or no? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Stephen Spector (a Citrix employee, looking from his email address) already suggest you ask at their forum, not here. I suggest you do so to find authoritative answer. However reading the documentation (http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX120714) the answer seems to be NO. From Chapter 2, System Requirements. " The following are the system requirements for the XenServer host: CPUs One or more 64-bit x86 CPU(s), 1.5 GHz minimum, 2 GHz or faster multicore CPU recommended " _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

The one listed on xen.org, and the one that''s used (as a base) in a lot of distros (including RHEL/Centos). If you ask "how can I run Xen easily on 32bit x86 CPU", then my answer would be "install Centos 5.3 32 bit, select Virtualization during install". Is this a joke?
