Hi friends, I''m a newbie with Xen. I''m trying to install and using Xen. I have a problem when installing Xen-kernel on Ubuntu 8.04 (2.6.24) I follow the tutorial : http://howtoforge.com/ubuntu-8.04-server-install-xen-from-ubuntu-repositories After installing ubuntu-xen-server package and patch it, it creates new entry on grub: / title Xen 3.2 / Ubuntu 8.04.1, kernel 2.6.24-16-xen root (hd0,0) kernel /xen-3.2.gz module /vmlinuz-2.6.24-16-xen root=UUID=3d5d205e-52e8-4d3c-a851-b34fd504c078 ro console=tty0 module /initrd.img-2.6.24-16-xen quiet/ When i boot new kernel, it loads Xen hypervisor (xen-gz3.2) and my kernel (vmlinuz-2.6.24.16-xen). Everything seem very good, but after all services are loaded, the screen is filled fully black color and i can not do anything What is problem here? Do i miss any step, package ?? I had tried "/kernel /xen-3.2.gz console=vga/" But the same result is displayed. I hope to receive your helps Thanks in advance. Do i miss any step, package ??I am pretty sure this is a known bug, but I thought that it was fixed with a newer version of either the kernel or xorg. I would recommend trying the latest xen, kernel, and xorg packages available in hardy-backports. You should follow up on this bug and see if you can get or provide any information from/for it. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/68440 You should be able to manage the dom0 system completely from an external box, if that is an option. Just use SSH -X to the dom0. Other remote solutions such as virt-manager, enomailsm, etc. could also work.
