hi, does anybody get Xen (With Debian 3.0.3 / Source 3.0.4/3.1) running _with_ bridged network in Vmware (Workstation/Server) ? I tried month before and yesterday, but no luck. It seems to be a problem with arp or something like else. any suggestions? cu denny _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

[Xen-users] Re: Xen 3.x.x in Vmware - Bridge Network
It works just fine for me. I''m using Win2008Server x64 and VMware Workstation 6.0.4 build-93057. This is how I configured it to work: http://docs.google.com/View?docid=dhsx3w9c_15dgxf3pcf - Simon> ------------------------------ > > Message: 6 > Date: Wed, 13 Aug 2008 20:12:18 +0200 > From: Denny Schierz <linuxmail@4lin.net> > Subject: [Xen-users] Xen 3.x.x in Vmware - Bridge Network > To: "''xen-users@lists.xensource.com''" <xen-users@lists.xensource.com> > Message-ID: <1218651138.29231.14.camel@miyazaki> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" > > hi, > > does anybody get Xen (With Debian 3.0.3 / Source 3.0.4/3.1) running > _with_ bridged network in Vmware (Workstation/Server) ? In fact, bridge does not work. I can see the arp request outside from vmware, but the packages are lost, somewhere. cu denny _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I can see the arp request outside from vmware, but the > packages are lost, somewhere.to answer my own question: Problem was starting Vmware as user. He doesn''t have permissions writing to /dev/vmnet0 . Creating a group, adding the user to it and change group-owner to the new group and set permissions to 660 solved my problem. Now the XenBridge works in Vmware. cu denny _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
