You could look into virt-manager or anything that uses libvirt. i think what Arpan want''s is a "data center management tool"... 1) Enomalism is one such tool 2) Usher by Diwakar Gupta is for grid managment 3) oVirt is for redhat linux But i have never used any of these. I will like to know if you are able to use any of them. I am planning to do similar work in future. So, if you are successful in using any of these, inform me too. So, if > you are successful in using any of these, inform me too.I have developed a Cherokee webserver plugin that uses libvirt and avahi to provide a REST http api, basically it is plugin server, boot it, start the helper tool and you are in business. Currently under development, because the starting of hosts should be balanced. Note that I consider VMware''s tools to be pretty clumsy and Windows-interface-burdened, so I''m not wildly impressed with VMware''s insistence on using a Windows GUI to run what''s actually an RHEL 3.1 ESX server. Citrix''s Xen products are at least running on CentOS 5, which is considerably more modern and powerful. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Both allow ssh access for shell based managment.>Citrix''s Xen products are >at least running on CentOS 5, which is considerably more modern and >powerful. So, what does ESX fail to deliver because of its "outdated" distro? Reliability? I guess you run all your Datacenter on bleeding edge untested pre-alpha code? Makes for good reliable 5 9''s I bet :P I am guessing if you knew what version of Fedora rhel 5 came from you would be upset<grin>. jlc _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
