[Xen-users] Freebsd (still) not booting in Xen HVM?
Hi list, I just figured out, that it is still not possible to boot a Freebsd 7.0 in a HVM (Xen 3.2)? Are there any news since the problem was reported first? (some years ago, with Freebsd6 and xen3.0 http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-10/msg00014.html) Regards Ralf _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Another point: Xen unstable is known not to have this problem but must be compiled with gcc3. Has anyone expieriences in compiling xen unstable using gcc4? It seems to be stable running certain HVM''s and PVM''s, so i see no reason not to use gcc4.2> Is there a list showing what versions of Xen can be safely compiled with > which version of gcc?Ralf -- alles bleibt anders... _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I have some Windows VM (2003 server, 2008 server and XP + GplPV, now Freebsd 7, and some Ubuntu Hardy PV which all run very fast and stable. But they have not much network load. Sometimes runs backup to AFS Filesystem, Volume replication, ..., but this works good. BTW, I''m a bloody newbe in Xen so if you would like to get real good answers, you should answer at least cc to the list. ;-) Regards Ralf _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
