Hi, I am unable to input kana characters into a properly configured SLES10 DOMU. Does anyone have this working with any Linux variant? I am using SLES 10 SP1 on DOM0 with Xen 3.0.4. DOMO is configured for jp106 keyboard and does input/display kana characters. DOMU has same configuration and shows the ascii keycodes correctly, just can''t toggle into the kana group. VM configuration file has keymap="ja" Thanks Pat _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

[Xen-users] Mouse cursor tracking issue in VNC console windows
I''m running Xen on RHEL5. Currently Xen 3.1 from xensource rpms, but the problem existed on the previous 3.0.3 version of Xen. The issue does not appear to exist on a debian/etc Xen 3.1 installation. The problem: When VNC is used to present the console for HVM VMs, whether the vncviewer is on my windows desktop or displayed on my desktop via X from a vncviewer on the xen dom0, the virtual mouse cursor and a small square appear in the window. There is a varying distance between the small square which seems to be the real mouse cursor as it becomes the windows mouse as soon as it leaves the VNC window. Since the two ''cursors'' aren''t overlayed and change distance and relationship, it is really difficult to drive a window based screen. Does anyone know what package needs to be updated to fix this? Thanks, Dave Morris _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Is DOM0 running X? Is DOMU not running X? There is a wealth of difference between the X keyboard extension (XKB) and the keymap for consoles. For linux hvms''s, see the xen 3.0 docs, Appendix A.4.3 : http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/research/srg/netos/xen/readmes/user/user.html _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I find it more convenient in many ways. G. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

In your Windows client VM disable mouse acceleration. It works a lot better after that. Yes DOM0 is running X and properly displays the kana characters. ALT-SHIFT is used to toggle the group from ascii to kana. Looks to me as if the ALT-SHIFT is not being decoded as XK_ISO_Next_Group in qemu as that X keysym is not defined/mapped in /usr/share/xen/qemu/keymaps/ja. DOM0 and DOMU xorg.conf keyboard settings Section "InputDevice" Driver "kbd" Identifier "Keyboard[0]" Option "Protocol" "Standard" Option "XkbLayout" "jp" Option "XkbModel" "jp106" Option "XkbOptions" "grp:alt_shift_toggle" Option "XkbRules" "xfree86" Option "XkbVariant" "xfree86" EndSection>>> On Thu, Sep 13, 2007 at 1:34 AM, in message > Geoff Streeter <geoff@dyalog.com> wrote: > Is DOM0 running X?
