[Xen-devel] Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 does not run with more than 2 VCPUs
Hi, Just installed a new VM with W2k3 R2 SP1 and updated to the new SP2. After the reboot the machine hangs right while the bootscreen appears. My current VM configuration had 4 VPCUs with acpi=1 and apic=1 and SP1 worked great. With SP2 I can only boot with a maximum of 2 VCPUs now. Maybe M$ changed something with their HAL in SP2 so that Xen needs a patch for it now. We''ll be testing it out asap I''m sure. It''d be nice to have a fix for 3.0.5 in a couple of weeks time. -- Keir _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

What version of Xen are you using?I''m currently working with Xen 3.0.4 installed from the Novell Xen preview program (SLES10-x86-64-changeset13138-15.tar.bz2 from 2007-03-14) on SUSE Linux 10.1. Can I do something for you to help to debug that phenomenon? You might want to try installing Xen and tools from the xen-unstable repository (I doubt there''s a conveniently packaged version available for SLES). -- Keir _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
