Hi, HW: Compaq evo laptop, 640Mb ram, 800MHz cpu Xen: 3.0.3 on Ubuntu Edgy (2.6.17-6-generic-xen0) Problem: I have created 4 DomU''s. When I start the third DomU a Kernel panic appears, and after some seconds the computer shuts down. I don''t know where to get this output, and th messages on screes only stay for some seconds. The only thing I can see is this ''Kernel panic'' message. This occurs when starting equally which 3rd DomU. Please help. Laptop is normally stable when using a ''normal'' kernel. If its not stuck in an endless loop of rebooting (as in you can''t ctrl-c fast enough to keep xendomains from starting it), and nothing is appearing in the logs try this : xm create domain.cfg > /root/info.txt 2>&1 If you still can''t get any indication of what''s going wrong (i.e. info.txt remains empty and logs remain untouched), if the laptop has a tv out plug in the back hook it up to a VCR or digital camera that can record the output for later playback.> This occurs when starting equally which 3rd DomU.A good start would be pasting the configuration for the third dom-u, as well as describing the OS its running, and anything special about it that differs from the other two. That may suggest the issue without the benefit of logs.> Please help. Laptop is normally stable when using a ''normal'' kernel. But what fun is that? Seems to be the same problem, I had posted before ("crashing with second guest.") Would like to know, if it''s the same hardware- arrangement (AMD K7 CPU) and/or kernel (2.6.17-xen-k7). I removed Xen and reinstalled by also changing the kernel to 2.6.18-xen-k7, and now problems seem to be solved. But also don''t found any logentry on this crashing-behaviour. Hello,> Seems to be the same problem, I had posted before ("crashing with second > guest.")I had also the problem; someone told me, it''s an issue with Kernel 2.6.17.> Would like to know, if it''s the same hardware- arrangement (AMD K7 CPU) > and/or kernel (2.6.17-xen-k7).Exactly. I had the problem with this Kernel (a Debian, not the Vanilla) and two different Plattforms: An Athlon XP and two Athlon 64 X2 AM2.> I removed Xen and reinstalled by also changing the kernel to > 2.6.18-xen-k7, and now problems seem to be solved.I switched back to 2.6.16-xen-k7, and this solved the problem.> But also don''t found any logentry on this crashing-behaviour.Same here. cu cp -- Die Homepage meines Vertrauens: www.cpur.de _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

How did you upgrade to 2.6.18-xen-k7? From source or by changing /etc/apt/sources.list? thanks, // Randy _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

But had also cases, when xend refused to start. Lasted installation with just the debian very base-system added by the xen-2.6.28-system worked out of the box.
