Hi, i am not sure, in which mailing-list my problem fits better, so i post it to both. I am running a IBM thinkpad R60e with Debain etch. With the stock Kernel xorg works nicely and stable, but if i boot the xen-kernel, xorg is not brought up. I searched the archives already, but the problem was there never reallysolved/discussed. It seems not to matter if i compile xen 3.0.2.2 by myself or if i use the prebuild debian xen. I tried to chance the graphicsdriver to vesa, but that resulted also in a crash. I have attached the logs during starting xorg and the output od ''lspci''. Hopefully someone can help me, because slowly i am going insane :-) Thanks, Julian _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

The i945GM is used via the VESA bios and xen did not properly support vm86 emulation. Just pull the xen and kernel from Debian unstable. I have a variety of custom compiled Xen kernels, and would like to package each kernel set as an RPM package. Has anyone been able to do this? Typing ''make rpm'' fails in the xen source tree with the following error: [...] Makefile:525: /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.16xen0/arch/x86_64/ Makefile: No such file or directory make[2]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/src/redhat/BUILD/ kernel-2.6.16xen0/arch/x86_64/Makefile''. There is a maximum number of virtual machines? Cause my virtual machine number 10, can''t start. This is the error. [root@pinot4 auto]# xm create vmwin10.hvm Using config file "vmwin10.hvm". Error: Device 5632 (vbd) could not be connected. Backend device not found. When I shutdown any of the other virtual machines, vmwin10 start normally. Any suggestions?
