Hi! Well, i''m sure i''m only missing something. Here''s the case: I want to start a domU but it stops saying: "Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,1)" my config file for this domU: name = "debian-dnsserver" kernel = "/boot/vmlinuz-2.6-xen" memory = 256 disk = [''phy:vg0/dnsserverroot,sda1,w'',''phy:vg0/dnsserverswap,sda2,w''] root = "/dev/sda1" vif = [ ''bridge=xenintbr0'' ] dhcp = "off" ip = "10.10.0.2" netmask = "10.10.0.7" gateway = "10.10.0.1" hostname = "dnsserver" The logical volumes exist (already debootstrapped to the root). I tried to use hda instead of sda, but it didn''t helped. HEEEELP. Nor ''phy:/dev/mapper/vg0-dnsserverroot,sda1,w'', nor ''phy:mapper/vg0-dnsserverroot,sda1,w'' helped either. vg name is "vg0", so according to almost all tutorials ''phy:vg0/dnsserverroot,sda1,w'' should be correct. What could be the problem??? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Sorry guys, problem found. Forgot to add "ramdisk" option to domU config file On 9/11/06, Janke Dávid <janke.david@gmail.com> wrote:> Nor ''phy:/dev/mapper/vg0-dnsserverroot,sda1,w'', nor > ''phy:mapper/vg0-dnsserverroot,sda1,w'' helped either. > vg name is "vg0", so according to almost all tutorials > ''phy:vg0/dnsserverroot,sda1,w'' should be correct.
