Hi- I created a page in the wiki here: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/IntelVT Attempting to provide a starting point for listing the various bits of hardware which support intel''s hardware virtualization stuff. I don''t actually have all this information myself, which is why I created the wiki page. I put there what I do know, having learned from articles on hw enthusiast sites + reading this list. If anyone is using a processor / chipset / motherboard combination which supports intel''s hardware VT, please go and put your gear into that page in the wiki, so everyone else can see their choices of what to get if they want to get in on the testing! thanks, Erik _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Are there docs on how use VT with Xen 3.0.1? I didn''t find anything useful (sure, I''ll write an howto if needed). -- Davide Corio davide.corio@redomino.com Redomino S.r.l. Hi Davide- Thanks for your response. I don''t have or know of any docs about using VT, but have seen lots of traffic on this list about it. If you''ve got hardware to test with (I dont - yet!!) , a quick how-to would be great! thanks, Erik ---Original Message--- Hi Erik, I have a 945G mobo and a Pentium D 9xx, so I think I can try VT. Hi, >Are there docs on how use VT with Xen 3.0.1? not much more than in the official XEN-docu! One thing that seems to important is that you have to free up enough memory for the VMs in dom0 (dom0_mem or xm mem-set) before trying to start vmx-guests. For me it is not working like it does with domU-Linux-system that dom0 just gives the memory the VM needs! SDL sometimes it working very bad (I tried it on a Xeon-system and it''s mostly unusable slow, while it works quite good on a iP4-system), VNC also is quite bad for me, because keybord and mouse are not working correctly and the system is very slow! RDP ist working good, but only can be used if the (Windows-)installation is complete! And finaly if I''m right informed save/restore and migrate does not yet work with vmx-domains. -- Chau y hasta luego, Thorolf _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
