Does anyone have a reccomendation for hosting providers that use Xen? I googled around looking for some and found one in particular that while they seemed to use xen and to be community involved, also seemed to have some very unhappy customers and a bit of an uptime issue (no names, they may have just been having a rough start and we all know that customers will complain before they will compliment). So anyone have any reccomendations on hosting VPS providers that use Xen? -- Jason The place where you made your stand never mattered, only that you were there... and still on your feet _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Apart from us, I believe that Bytemark are using / are thinking about using Xen so they might be worth a look. I could put ourselves in that same coming soon category.> Apart from us, I believe that Bytemark are using / are thinking about > using Xen so they might be worth a look.I''m fairly sure there are multiple _existing_ (e.g. functioning) hosting services, of which unixshell.com is one who seems to be doing well. Search the (xen-users) list archives for matta@tektonic.net whom I believe is the owner or CEO. He seemed pretty competent. That said, I''ve never used their services, although I was tempted to sign up just to see what they were like (e.g. check out the competition). -Tom _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Search google for "Why unixshell sucks" - you''ll learn what /not/ to do. tbrown@baremetal.com wrote:>On Mon, 20 Feb 2006, Craig Webster wrote: > > > >>On 20 Feb 2006, at 23:01, Jason wrote: >> >> >>>Does anyone have a reccomendation for hosting providers that use Xen? >>> >>> >>We''re currently testing our Xen platform so we''ll be offering Xen >>domUs soon (and Xen dom0s for dedicated servers) - give me a yell if >>you''d like to discuss a project. >> >> > >? sounds like a "no, but I''ll spam the list anyway?"... This is a local company that is pretty active in the Linux community, I believe they even host our LUG website: http://www.real-time.com/rates.html Again I haven''t used them so you''ll have to decide on your own. Good luck and let us know what you find! -Eric _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

We work very hard here and from anyone can see from my posts on these Xen lists and bugzilla bugs (along with my dozens of private correspondences with the XenSource people) we are greatly pushing to fix all bugs that will affect new Xen hosting providers. This will benefit many, many people in the future (including our competitors!). And as some advice to new hosts, once you do gain a few thousand clients you /will/ get negative reviews no matter who you are.
