I happened to remember seeing "ZFS-0313" during a ZFS demo while using iPods as storage devices. As innovation would have it, we''d though of sing 2GB USB sticks as well as the iPod 60GB drives just for a mini SAN-type ZFS pool. Seems a lot of things are set for B36, yet we saw the demo on an older build (33?). Comments were passed back on if we''d get ZFS-final by Sol10u4 (late summer) or by Sol10u2. The ZFS demo shows off an impressive filesystem - yet widespread adoption is needed before migration of heavy investments in high-availability solutions to ZFS is seriously considered. I''m looking forward to see ZFS maintaining a large pool of 332TB - 40PB of storage with compression on. Mostly in conditions dealing with real time usage and heavy transaction processing whether in travel, banking, or finance. ~ Ken Mays This message posted from opensolaris.org
