Well after a little work and some help from Tom I''ve got a three nic firewall working of sorts. It''ll take a while for me to work out how I want to configure it but the basics are in place. Three ? remain about the install. 1. I used the Debian apt-get install shorewall command so therefore I assume I''ve used the .deb version but /etc/default/shorewall doesn''t exist so how do I set startup=1? 2. There was a message at the command prompt after starting shorewall for the first time that read "touch creating /var/lock/susys/shorewall: no such file or directory" ? 3. There appears from time to time a whole line or two of gobble-di-gook on the command line! I''m excited after 3 weeks and trying several different packages that I''ve got this far at last :-) John
