Postscript Printing Problems.
...ript) print out sane output. I've got a old
machine running Red Hat Linux, hooked up to the 4MP. The printcap
prints up postscript just fine. I make the printer a share, tell it
that the printer is postscript, then go to the win98 box, choose the HP
4MP driver and try printing and get goobly gook. Any ideas? Have I
missed something?

...now) but am
just trying to get up to speed on clustering in general.
I was just looking at Red Hat's site and they have this HPC thing
http://www.redhat.com/promo/mrg/ but damned if I can find any actual
details on it there - that data sheet they link to is just a bunch of
marketing gobble-de-gook as far as I can make sense of it anyway.
Quick question : what are Red Hat using to do that, and can CentOS do
the same thing? How hard is it to configure? How does it compare to
Grid Engine?
I have to say I'm a bit hesitant about Grid Engine because of the
whole Oracle takeover. I just...

messages I'll have in a few hours when this compile finishes. Here's a
quote from the build:

Now, I can make these errors go away by creating /etc/ssh, but it seems...

Adding Printer
We are a very small company and moved from WinTel environment to Linux.
Killed the WinTel file/print server and implemented SAMBA om Red Hat 7.2.
I have some users that need to print to a RICOH Aficio 4106 printer. When I
go through the sequence to add printer ...... it appears to install, but
the people cannot print.
Can anyone walk me through steps as I am novice...... and I do not want to

touch creating message?
...doesn''t
exist so how do I set startup=1?
2. There was a message at the command prompt after starting
shorewall for the first time that read "touch creating
/var/lock/susys/shorewall: no such file or directory" ?
3. There appears from time to time a whole line or two of
gobble-di-gook on the command line!
I''m excited after 3 weeks and trying several different packages that
I''ve got this far at last :-)

log output and browse list problem

NOTE: This email sent in plain text (I hope!) so it might not look
"correct", but it's supposed to look like Unicode-to-ASCII non-sense.
This is followed by hundreds of pages of special character gook.
That particular machine is running 3.0.24-6etch9, as are other
machines...but it's the only one with Log Vomit.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Printing from Vista/W2K8 with 3.4 Print Server
...r Vista and Win2K8 server I get nothing. The clients say
that the drivers aren't installed, and when I go to look at the server
properties on either client everything is blank. There is no Samba print
port, no print forms, and the installed drivers show up as a couple
characters of gobbelty-gook.
I haven't been able to discern any errors when looking at the log files.
Anyone have some insight? Help is much appreciated.

NFS export issue
Hello,
I have a ZFS filesystem structure, which is basically like this:
/foo
/foo/bar
/foo/baz
all are from one pool and /foo does only contain the other
directories/mounts (no other files)
When I try to export /foo via dfstab, I can see the directories bar and baz,
but these are empty.
Can I only export via NFS each subdir on its own ?
thanks in advance.

Rsync 3.0.4pre1 released
Rsync version 3.0.4pre1 is now available for release testing. This is
a bug-fix release with the only enhancement being the adding of a way
to interact with an overly-restrictive server that refuses rsync's
behind-the-scenes use of the -e option.
Please test this new release and send email to the rsync mailing list
with any questions, comments, or bug reports.

I get the second (longer) error above.
If I simply delete 10 lines from this last template (ie. the 105 repeated
12345 lines become 95 lines), the error disappears and the template works.
Also, the "gobbledy gook" in the longer version of the error changes as
the number of lines in the template changes. That stuff appears to be
spilling over from other parts of my puppet configs.
The first error looks similar to defect #610 in the bug tracker, but that
bug is sitting there unresolved. More interesti...

pxelinux/mboot confused about e820 memory maps on HP Proliant BIOS's
...cal RAM map:
(XEN) Not enough memory to stash the DOM0 kernel image.
...
------
After some diagnosing this turned out to be a problem with mboot
and the HP Proliant DL360 & HP Proliant DL380 systems we have.
When mboot was querying the BIOS for their E820 memory maps they
were getting gobbly gook and not the proper memory maps. We did
not see this problem with our Dell Proliant 1750's.
I found a fix which I've applied to mboot.c32 and it seems to fix
the problem. The issue is that the regs_in struct passed into
the INT15/E820 call the full register structure was not being
cleared...

Dualboot CentOS and Windows
Hi,
I have to install CentOS on a spare partition of a laptop with
Windows pre installed. Is there anything I have to watch out for?
Couldn't find anything in the wiki or does the installer handle this
well without me doing some magic, or so?
TIA,
Frank.
