Thanks Jeff, the /etc/icecast2 is owned by root and group root I am not sure what you mean about the absolute path to icecast.xml. In which file? the /etc/init.d/icecast2 file? This is what is there: # Defaults CONFIGFILE="/etc/icecast2/icecast.xml" CONFIGDEFAULTFILE="/etc/default/icecast2" USERID=icecast2 GROUPID=icecast ENABLE="false" could it be that it says USERID and GROUPID are icecast2 and icecast respectively? whomever posted I can quite follow, either Jeff or Jose, this /etc/init.d/icecast2 is actually included in the startup ? Check with ls /etc/rc* | grep icecast2 I am working on ubuntu and we don't have an /etc/rc. we have /etc/init.d and there is an /etc/init.d/icecast2 file there. Interesting, I manually started the icecast2 and I shut it down using the /etc/init.d/icecast2 stop. On 2015-08-25 10:51, Jos?
