[Samba] Samba 3.x trusts on member server causing samba crash?
Hi I have Samba 3.6.24 domain controller, on Solaris 10 x64, configured as a primary domain controller for a classic domain. It has a domain trust configured with a Windows 2003 Active Directory domain. Winbind is running . The "wbinfo -u" command on the samba PDC properly shows both local and trusted users. On the member server, which is Samba 3.6.24 on Solaris 11 x64, "wbinfo -u" only shows users from the local domain. It does not show users from the trusted domain. The "wbinfo -m" (or "wbinfo - trusted-domains") command on the member server list the BUILTIN domain, local domain, trusted domain and local machine. The "wbinfo -D TRUSTEDDOMAIN" command does list the DC and other domain info for the trusted domain. Idmapping is not yet configured on the member server for the trusted domain (I believe that is required for file permissions and "getent passwd" to work but not for just listing users and groups.) The samba service (smbd process) failed several times today (smbd core dumped) - the only significant change seems to be that a relocated a directory to the member server that is supposed to be accessible to members in the trusted domain as well as the local domain. There may be a correlation between samba failing and the trusted user attempting to access the directory. Or it may just be correlation with an increase in the load on the server as a move more directories too it - BUT that seems unlikely to me that the load is high anyway. File system is zfs. I belive NTLMv2 and SMB2 are enabled by default. Appreciate any advice. Thanks
