[Wine]Wine 20041019 - Error Installing XviD (log + errors included)
using 20041019 installing XviD 1.0.2 "Creating Shortcuts... C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\XviD\Nic's MiniCalc.lnk" error: CoCreateInstance failed, code 0x80040154 This error happens with every link the installer program tries to create. After these set of error messages are done the following happens: "Registering files..." error: "c:\Windows\System\xvid.ax Unable to register the DLL/OCX: DIRegister Server failed; code 0x80040154. Click Retry to try again, Ignore to procedd anyway (not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation." I clicked on Ignore after Retry just kept repeating this message. So far that seems to have completely hung the installation process. Here is what is going on in my aterm: Please use the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG\Software\Fonts\LogPixels to set the screen resolution and remove the "Resolution" entry in the config file err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x40b468 "?" wait timed out in thread 000a, blocked by 0009, retrying (60 sec) err:dc:DCE_FreeWindowDCE [0x10044] GetDC() without ReleaseDC()! (mfc42.dll should have been installed by your application, but some are lazy and just hope it to be there). Rein. -- Rein Klazes rklazes@xs4all.nl
