R help - Sep 2013 - how to allocate more memory?

Hello all,

I am running mixed model on a large dataset and I get the following warning
messages:
"Reached total allocation of 1535Mb: see help(memory.size)"
and
"Calloc could not allocate memory (705648 of 8 bytes)"

How do I get around this?
