Rails - Aug 2009 - Performance hit from disabling template caching?

Hi,

How bad is the performance hit from disabling template caching?

I''ve got an app which was upgraded to 2.2 and that seems to have
turned on template caching - causing other problems. Presumably the
app will just run at the same speed it was running at prior to the 2.2
upgrade since it was running without template caching then?
