Hi all, I am in the process of learning rails, and so far I''ve relied on "Agile Web Development with Rails" and "Rails Recipes". I''ve noticed there are are couple of more advanced rails books on amazon, and many seem to cover similar topics. Can anyone shed some light on how they stack up? Any particular recommendations? Thanks! Bob --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. Re: Book Recommendation for Somewhat Experienced Rails Programmer
The Rails Way is probably the place to go next. Ruby for Rails is a nice book to help you build your Ruby skills though it may be a little outdated.... it''s still an awesome book. Any particular recommendations?Get "The Rails Way". Only one word comes to mind after having read this book, "coverage". -- Greg Donald http://destiney.com/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. Re: Book Recommendation for Somewhat Experienced Rails Programmer
I also bought The Rails Way a few weeks ago and find it a great complement to AWDR. The only deficiency I''ve found is that the index is pretty sparse. But I''ve found it to be the kind of book where you''re more likely to find what you need from the ToC.
