Folks: I''ve just uploaded a new revision of the PDF of Agile Web Development with Rails (2nd ed). It fixes all reported errata, and brings the content in line with changes made to Rails since the book''s release (so you''ll see that the section on Observers has changed, as has the section on setting session options). As usual, the update is available for free from http://books.pragprog.com/titles/rails2/reorder Enter just two of the three pieces of information to identify your PDF. I recommend using your order number and your email address, as these tend to be be the most consistent. I''m thinking to buy also the pdf (got the printed about two weeks ago). It''s amazing, almost - i say almost - perfect. The updates would be handy for people like me who are new to rails and can''t find the time to check both the updates (from the rails team) and studying the book / practicing / writing code at the same time :) -Yeah probably i will get it too :) -P.S. (although it may be more important than the previous): I think i found some errors in the book. At least when i try them they don''t seem to work, although i found some workarounds... One would be on page on page 555 on the upper part of the page, file "pragforms/app/ views/user/inplace_demo.rhtml". The "User.user_columns" didn''t worked for me; changed it to "User.content_columns" On May 6, 5:52 pm, Mohit Sindhwani <mo_m...-RxrYI66vbj0AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org> wrote:> Dave Thomas wrote: > > Folks: > > > I''ve just uploaded a new revision of the PDF of Agile Web Development > > with Rails (2nd ed). Nikos, the paper is in printed form and can be changed by doing another run at the printers. Also, there''s an errata which should address most of the issues that you see in the paperback. Furthermore, if you''re looking for something up to date, then I would highly recommend getting a copy of the PDF. Good luck, -Conrad On 5/6/07, Nikos D. <demisone-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org> wrote:> > I''m thinking to buy also the pdf (got the printed about two weeks > ago). The "User.user_columns" didn''t worked > for me; changed it to "User.content_columns"Have a look at the errata list for your version of the paper book (the version of the book can be found on the copyright page, and the errata list at http://books.pragprog.com/titles/rails2/errata). If your errata can''t be found in the list, and if the program fails with the downloaded code from our site, please do report it. If you have the PDF version, you can report an erratum by clicking the link at the bottom of any page.
